Strengthening Identity, Transforming Stress, & Creating Authentic Lives

As a licensed therapist, author, and corporate professional, I empower adults and professionals to embrace their identities, navigate life’s transitions with confidence, and transform overfunctioning into balance and authenticity.

Meet Your Therapist

Welcome

I’m Dr. Nytasia M. Hicks, a therapist and behavioral scientist who helps people slow down, understand themselves, and build healthier ways to handle stress.

I combine empathy with evidence-based strategies to help clients feel grounded, balanced, and supported in every area of their lives.

Who I Work With

I work with students, young adults, and professionals who carry a lot. Grades, goals, family expectations, work demands, and emotions that often go unseen.

My clients are thoughtful, caring, and capable, but often feel tired, anxious, or unsure about what’s next. They want space to breathe, reflect, and move forward with confidence.

My Background

I earned my PhD in Sociology and Gerontology and I’m a licensed therapist (LMSW) in Texas.

Before private practice, I worked in hospitals, research, and corporate settings, helping people and teams understand how stress, culture, and identity affect mental health.

Those experiences taught me something important. Burnout, anxiety, and emotional overload do not mean something is wrong with you. They mean you have been strong for a long time and deserve space to rest and reset.

My Approach to Therapy

In therapy, we explore what is beneath the pressure, the habits, emotions, and patterns that keep you running on empty.

Together, we build tools that help you feel calm, confident, and connected again.

You can be successful and still need support. You can lead and still learn to rest. You can heal while still showing up for what matters.

Let’s start from there.
